I've been racing go-karts all my life, since
i was 9 anyways. I went to cherokee speedway
last weekend and saw Freddy Smith, wheelin'and dealin'. I think i'd like it. I want to to race in the four banger class to get started. Any opinions on a car/ engine.

I'd see if you can find a used car for sale. It would probably be the easiest way to get involved. Also, talk to some of your local drivers and ask them for advice or if they know of any cars for sale.

Keep your eyes on the newspaper, check track websites that have cars for sale.

Check the website to see what type of car won the points last year. Go to the track and talk to the guys in the pits.( Be careful, you will ask 4 people and get 6 opinions.)

Good luck.

Pinto power......
Most guys are running pinto 2300's.Lots of performance parts available, and cheaper compared to other makes and models.I've seen some guys use pinto chassis with mustang bodies.

I started powder puffing and it led to my racing from there. The last race of powder puff I went to racing with the guys then. Last year I got a whole year with the hobby class finished 16th out of 55 cars. [IMG]
