Hey guys was wondering what you guys spray on your cars to keep the mud from sticking to your fancy paint jobs?I remember in the old days they use to spray deasil on the cars,everybody seems to enviomental safe these days for that.The 'dirt off' product seems a little high...any home remedies out there?

posted March 05, 2003 10:02 PM just use baby oil. you can wipe it on or spray it on the same way you did the other stuff. if you wipe it on it will take one bottle . that is the way i do it.

just spray it down really good with baby oil. (The cheap kind works just as good as the expensive) You will be out no more than $4 a week which is alot cheaper than the "dirt off" stuff!

Have used mudd off the past couple years. One bottle lasts quite a while. I think it helps more when you go to wash it than it does keeping the dirt off.

I think I read on here once that all the dirt off is made from is water soluble cutting coolant like CNC machine shops use. Can't remember for sure but if you run a search for it on the forum there were tons of home remedies listed on that thread. But the machine shop I worked at bought that stuff in bulk and a gallon would go a long way diluted at 2 to 1 with water. I never tried to see if it works. I maybe wrong that is was cutting coolant but I know the thread exists on here somewhere.
