First and foremost....enjoy yourself and have fun. If you don't, its not worth the effort.

Hey Fatboy!
I am going to be a rookie too next year.
I have decided I will race with the guys.
I have watched enough from the inside (taking photos) that for us Rookies, we need to stay out of the regular racers way until we get a good feel for the track and the car.
I am going to start slow and work on speed as I go...5 laps or so
I have learned over the years that a guy/gal can get pretty worked up if someone they are racing with does something thoughtless and causes damage to their car!

We'll have to compare our experiences next season!

What I did was to tell the official that I wanted to start tail back. That way I diden't have to wary about a car behind me if I spun out, which I did a few times. I always take a quick look at the turns when I pass the half way mark on the straight. You would be suprised how many wreacks you will avoid. Most important is get seat time and enjoy your self.

Good advice- I think I will definitely ask for the tail when I start.
Thanks!

Make freinds in the pits and expain your a rookie. And they will most likely tell you,"you have to start somewhere".And hopefully they will offer advise if you need help.I know my first race I had guys and gals that helped me(and u know who u are). Most people will help you.Have fun.

JUST ENJOY YOURSELF AND TAKE EACH LAP A LITTLE HARDER, IF YOU SPIN OUT THEN YOU WENT A LITTLE TOO HARD. HAVE FUN
