I got a really good deal on a basic 16' flat bed trailer with trailer-house axles. the trailer sits higher than I would like and I noticed that the axles are bolted under the springs (making it sit high). Would there be any negative effects to putting the axles on top of the springs to lower it? I would have to rework my fenders, but I'm not worried about that.

Thats what i did and it helped out alot. if i remember right there is also a kit you can get to lower it. Check with your local trailer dealer they should be able to help. You may want to think about changing to diffent axles in the future though its getting harder to find good used tires for these axles i changed mine over to 3500 lb axles for about 500$. Well worth the cost. Pistolpete
