Sprint Cars added to Sept. 15 Sunday Series date at Thunderbird CRANDALL, Texas (June 28) – A third I.M.C.A.-sanctioned class has been added to the race program, when the Day Motorsports Texas Super Sunday Series travels to Thunderbird Speedway. Sprint Cars will race for $600 to win and at least $100 to start on Sept. 15 at Crandall. They join both the I.M.C.A. Sunoco Modifieds and Stock Cars on the evening card. “Sprint Cars have not raced at Thunderbird in several years. We felt they would be a good addition to the show for the fans, as well as give I.M.C.A. Sprint Car drivers another opportunity to race,” explained promoter Tommy Simons. “We have already had several verbal commitments from area drivers.” “Starting time that day has been changed to allow for better track conditions,” he added. “Gates will open at 5 p.m. and we’ll start racing at 7 p.m.” Candor Racing Products of Tulia will sponsor the Sprint portion of the program. National and state points will be awarded. Questions about the Sept. 15 race can be directed to Simons at (972) 742-4611 or 287-5574.
