I understand that in some areas a 305 spec engine is being run in sprints. What are general thoughts on this and do you belive it will reduce engine costs. Also, if doable, could it be inserted into other classes on a national level?
This could be an interesting concept that could be incorperated in late models as well. A spec engine and spec tires would equalize the field and provide mabye a better car count as well as closer racing.
This is only an idea which is like a plant, the more you feed and water it the more it grows.

I think this would be a great idea. These engines are pretty easy to get and would definitely be pretty cheap to build.

The 305 sprints are a fun & affordable. You can build the spec motor with everything new for app. $8.000.00 They average around 415 hp. Plus the motors are durable. There are alot of rule differences between ths VSS & the Hesston rules.
It is a fun class & they run faster than most people realise, just don't have the instant speed of the 410 sprints

The $8,000.00 motor is everything brand new. There are many of the top motors at hesston that are built with used blocks cranks ect.from 3,000- 4,000 dollars. Most of the motors are built in the race shops. with the compression rules they can be very durable with out being built by a high priced engine shop. The .305 is fuel injected with spec Brodix alu. headheads
