UDTRA HARDEE'S SHOOTOUT NOTEBOOK
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:
WOODSTOCK, GA - Officials of the United Dirt Track Racing Association and
Dixie Speedway have made several announcements concerning the $55,000-to-win
13th Annual Hardee's Shootout for the UDTRA Pro DirtCar Series on October
11-12 at Dixie Speedway, including the naming of the event Grand Marshall,
special advance ticket prices, and Isky Dash information.
AMS PRESIDENT ED CLARK NAMED GRAND MARSHALL OF HARDEE'S SHOOTOUT: Atlanta
Motor Speedway President and General Manager Ed Clark has been named the
Grand Marshall of the Hardee's Shootout.
Atlanta Motor Speedway is owned by Speedway Motorsports, Inc. and the UDTRA
Pro DirtCar Series has appeared at SMI tracks that include the dirt tracks
at Texas Motor Speedway in Fort Worth, TX, Lowe's Motor Speedway in Concord,
NC, and Bristol Motor Speedway in Bristol, TN.
"Ed Clark has been a great friend of Dixie Speedway over the years, and
contribution, along with that of parent company Speedway Motorsports, Inc.,
to auto racing in the state of Georgia has been appreciated by millions of
fans," UDTRA President and Dixie Speedway Vice President Mike Swims said.
"It is a great honor for Dixie Speedway and UDTRA to have him serve as Grand
Marshall for the biggest event in track and series history."
Fans attending the Hardee's Shootout will also be eligible to win tickets
that will be given away during intermission to the Winston Cup race at
Atlanta Motor Speedway on October 27.
SPECIAL ADVANCE HARDEE'S SHOOTOUT TICKET PRICES: Dixie Speedway officials
have announced a special advance two-day general admission ticket price of
$40 for the $55,000-to-win 13th Annual Hardee's Shootout for the UDTRA Pro
DirtCar Series at Dixie Speedway on October 11-12.
Fans will see the UDTRA Pro DirtCars compete in 10 races over the two days.
On October 11 there will be six heat races and the $5,000-to-win Isky Dash
featuring the fast qualifiers from the 2002 UDTRA Pro DirtCar Series season.
On October 12 there will be two Polaris ATVs Consolation Races, and the
100-lap 13th Annual Hardee's Shootout.

at (770) 926-5315. The price of a two-day general admission ticket at the
gate will be $50.
ISKY DASH FIELD NOW AT 19 WITH A CHANCE FOR 21: There are 19 different
drivers that have set at least one fast time in UDTRA Pro DirtCar Series
events this season. These drivers are eligible to participate in the
$5,000-to-win Isky Dash on October 11 as a part of the 13th Annual Hardee's
Shootout at Dixie Speedway.
Should a driver not yet eligible for the Isky Dash set fast time this
Saturday night at the UDTRA Pro DirtCar Series event in Cumberland, MD, that
driver would be the 20th participant.
Should yet another driver not yet eligible for the Isky Dash set fast for
the Hardee's Shootout during time trials on October 11, that driver would
the 21st participant in the Isky Dash later that night. The line-up for
Isky Dash will be determined by the luck of the draw. The Isky Dash will
a 20-lap event and feature double-file restarts.
Defending UDTRA Champion Rick Eckert of York, PA heads the Isky Dash entry
list with five fast honors this season. Steve Francis of Ashland, KY and
Earl Pearson Jr. of Jacksonville, FL are next on the list with four fast
Drivers with two fast times this season are Steve Shaver of Parkersburg,
WV, Don O'Neal of Martinsville, IN, Donnie Moran of Dresden, OH, Randy Korte
of Highland, IL, Brian Birkhofer of Muscatine, IA, 1997 UDTRA Champion Billy
Moyer of Batesville, AR, and 1999 UDTRA Champion Dale McDowell of Rossville,
Nine drivers have one UDTRA fast time this season. They are Tim Dohm of
Charleston, WV, Randle Chupp of Mooresville, NC, Matt Miller of Waterville,
OH, Brady Smith of Solon Springs, WI, Scott Sexton of Pigeon Forge, TN,
Marshall Green of Dalton, GA, Jimmy Mars of Elk Mound, WI, Dan Schlieper
Pewaukee, WI, and Ray Cook of Brasstown, NC.
