UDTRA RETURNS TO 311 MOTOR SPEEDWAY THIS WEEKEND

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

WOODSTOCK, GA - The United Dirt Track Racing Association Pro DirtCar Series
returns to 311 Motor Speedway in Madison, NC for the first time since 1994
this Friday and Saturday night highlighted by a 100-lap $20,000-to-win main
event.

The UDTRA Pro DirtCars will compete in qualifying and heat races on Friday
night, and on Saturday it's a drivers autograph session, consolations races,
and the main event.

Each day, the pit gate opens at 1 p.m., the grandstand gate opens at 5 p.m.,
hot laps are set for 7 p.m., and racing is scheduled for 8 p.m. The 311
Motor Speedway Steel-Head Late Models will also be in action each night.

Going into the weekend's action, Defending UDTRA Champion Rick Eckert of
York, PA holds a 133-point lead over Steve Francis of Ashland, KY. The
1999
UDTRA Champion Dale McDowell of Rossville, GA is in the third spot, 175
points behind Eckert. Eckert has six wins this season, Francis has two
wins, and McDowell has seven wins.

Jimmy Mars of Elk Mound, WI is still within striking distance in the
championship hunt from the fourth spot with two wins, and is 210 points
behind Eckert. The top four drivers in the current UDTRA point standings
have gone over six figures in season earnings after the first 31 events
of
the season.

Eckert has earned $281,350, which includes the $100,000 Great Northern
Challenge Bonus he earned by winning the USA Nationals at Cedar Lake
Speedway in New Richmond, WI on August 3. McDowell is second on the
earnings list with $156,025, Francis has earned $118,050, and Mars has
pocketed $100,225.

Earl Pearson Jr. of Jacksonville, FL is in the fifth spot with one win,
the
1996 UDTRA Champion Freddy Smith of Knoxville, TN is sixth with one win,
and
Randy Korte of Highland, IL is seventh in the points chase with one win.
Donnie Moran of Dresden, OH holds down the eighth spot, and ninth is Ray
Cook of Brasstown, NC.

Billy Ogle Jr. of Knoxville, TN is tenth in points, and leads the $10,000
Lucas Oil Rookie of the Year competition. Ogle has a 169-point lead in
the
Lucas Oil Rookie points chase over Shane Tankersley of Morganton, GA, who
is
12th overall in the point standings.
