UDTRA POINT LEADER FINED AND PUT ON PROBATION: UDTRA Pro DirtCar Series
point leader Dale McDowell of Rossville, GA has been fined $2,500 and put
on
indefinite probation by UDTRA officials. During the post-race inspection
on
May 13 at Kankakee Motor Speedway, UDTRA officials found an unapproved part
on the 1999 UDTRA Champion's car.

During the same inspection, UDTRA did not find any traction control device
on McDowell's car, on McDowell himself, or any of his crew members. Since
the May 13 inspection, UDTRA officials have tightly scrutinized McDowell's
car after winning Pro DirtCar Series events in Lincoln, NE on May 18, and
in
Huron, SD on May 20. The car passed inspection on both occasions.
