UDTRA NOTEBOOK: $225,000 SOUTHEASTERN SWING CONTINUES THIS WEEKEND;
SCHRADER TO RACE IN MACON, IL; TV RACE THIS WEEK; RACE ADDED TO SCHEDULE;
HARDEE'S TO SPONSOR UDTRA SHOOTOUT

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

WOODSTOCK, GA - The United Dirt Track Racing Association Pro DirtCar Series
will make its first-ever visit to Lavonia Speedway this Friday night with
a
50-lap $10,000-to-win main event. On Saturday night, the series will make
its second visit to Thunder Valley Speedway for a 50-lap $10,000-to-win
main
event.

Leading the entry list is the 1999 UDTRA Champion and current point leader,
Dale McDowell of Rossville, GA, who won the last time out for UDTRA at TVS
in 1999, and also won the UDTRA Southeastern Swing opener on April 19 in
Lancaster, SC.

Along with McDowell, a host of the nation's top dirt late model drivers,
as
well as the top local competitors are expected for the UDTRA Pro DirtCar
Series April Southeastern Swing events at Lavonia Speedway and Thunder
Valley Speedway.

McDowell leads a tight points race going into this weekend's UDTRA action,
with just 92 points separating the top five drivers.

Defending UDTRA Champion Rick Eckert of York, PA is second in the UDTRA
Pro
DirtCar Series point standings after the first seven events of the 2002
season, just 23 points behind McDowell. Steve Francis of Ashland, KY has
moved up to the third spot in points, 22 points behind Eckert, after a win
last Saturday night in Lancaster, SC.

Jimmy Mars of Elk Mound, WI is fourth in points, one point behind Francis,
with one win this season. The 1997 UDTRA Champion Billy Moyer of
Batesville, AR is fifth in points with one win, and is 46 points behind
Mars.

Four-time UDTRA Champion Scott Bloomquist of Mooresburg, TN is sixth in
points with one win. Bloomquist is the all-time series winner with 88
victories, and leads the career earnings list with over $1.5-million in
prize money earned.

Rounding out the top ten in points are Donnie Moran of Dresden, OH, Dan
Schlieper of Pewaukee, WI, Wendell Wallace of Batesville, AR, who is also
a
member of the UDTRA Millionaires Club, and Ray Cook of Brasstown, NC. The
1996 UDTRA Champion Freddy Smith of Knoxville, TN is one point out of the
top ten in the 11th spot in points.

Other top entries expected include Earl Pearson Jr. of Jacksonville, FL,
Randy Korte of Highland, IL, Brian Birkhofer of Muscatine, IA, and the UDTRA
2001 Rookie of the Year Joe Izzo of Chicago, IL.

There are also five drivers battling for the $10,000 UDTRA Lucas Oil Rookie
of the Year Award. Shane Tankersley of Morganton, GA leads the Lucas Oil
Rookie of the Year points standings, followed by Mark Kraus of Stratford,
WI, who is 70 points behind Tankersley. Billy Ogle Jr. of Knoxville, TN
is
third in rookie points followed by a tie for fourth between Anthony White
of
Clinton, TN, and John Anderson of Omaha, NE.

Among the local favorites expected for the UDTRA April Southeastern Swing
will be National Dirt Late Model Hall of Fame member Buck Simmons of
Baldwin, GA. Simmons continues his quest for his 1,000th career feature
race win. Two of Simmons' career wins have come in UDTRA-sanctioned events.

Other National Dirt Late Model Hall of Fame members expected are Mike Duvall
of Gaffney, SC, and Smith. Bloomquist, Moyer, and Moran will be inducted
into the National Dirt Late Model Hall of Fame in 2002.

Other local favorites entered for the UDTRA Southeastern Swing include Ricky
Weeks of Rutherfordton, NC, Dennis Franklin of Gaffney, SC, Jeff Cook of
Spartanburg, SC, Chris Madden of Laurens, SC, and Jeff Smith of Dallas,
NC.

Ticket prices for each event at Lavonia and TVS will be $25 for adult
general admission, children 11 and under will be admitted free in the
grandstand, and pit passes will be $35. The pit gate opens at 2 p.m. and
the
grandstand gates open at 4 p.m. each day.

The Shoney's Inn in Lavonia, GA is the UDTRA Official Host Hotel for the
UDTRA Pro DirtCar Series event at Lavonia Speedway. The Shoney's Inn is
offering UDTRA fans and competitors a special discount rate of $59 per

The Days Inn in Shelby, NC is the UDTRA Official Host Hotel for the UDTRA

SCHRADER ADDS MACON, IL TO HIS UDTRA SCHEDULE: Winston Cup star Ken
Schrader of Fenton, MO has added the UDTRA Pro DirtCar Series event at
Macon, IL on May 27 to his dirt racing schedule. It will be the second
event in a time frame of seven days Schrader will compete with America's
Favorite Show On Dirt.

Schrader will begin his UDTRA Pro DirtCar Series tour on May 20 at the
Dakota State Fairgrounds Speedway in Huron, SD.

UDTRA "DIRTY THURSDAY" TO PREMIER THIS THURSDAY NIGHT: The UDTRA Pro DirtCar
Series will be featured in the premier of UDTRA "Dirty Thursday" this
Thursday night at 11 p.m. ET on the SPEED Channel with the UDTRA event from
Glenmora, LA taped on March 16. Many long-time observers of dirt late model
racing have called this event one of the best races ever.

SPEED Channel will re-air the UDTRA Pro DirtCar Series Paragon Casino Resort
Soaring Eagle Classic from Glenmora, LA on Monday, May 6 at 3 p.m. ET.

NEW TELEVISED EVENT ON 2002 SCHEDULE FROM DENISON, IA: UDTRA Officials
have
announced a new date on the UDTRA Pro DirtCar Series 2002 schedule.
America's Favorite Show On Dirt will travel to a new venue, Crawford County
Speedway in Denison, IA, for a $10,000-to-win event on Tuesday, June 25.

This race will be taped to air nationally on the SPEED Channel on August
29
at 11 p.m. ET. This event replaces the June 24 date on the 2002 UDTRA
schedule, originally scheduled for Shawano, WI.

HARDEE'S NEW SHOOTOUT SPONSOR/SHOOTOUT ADVANCE TICKET RENEWAL FORMS SENT
OUT: Hardee's Restaurants, Dixie Speedway and UDTRA Officials have
announced that the UDTRA Pro DirtCar Series season-finale at Dixie Speedway
in Woodstock, GA on October 11-12 will now be called the Hardee's Shootout,
which will pay the winner $55,000.

"We're very excited about our involvement at Dixie Speedway this year, as
the track has had a long reputation for hosting quality family entertainment
for over 30 years," said Robert Gellman, Marketing Director of Hardee's
franchisee Grand Star LLC, Inc. "We're not only happy to be a part of the
weekly racing at Dixie Speedway this season, but also as the sponsor of
the
year's biggest event."

Dixie Speedway has mailed out ticket renewal letters to last year's Shootout
advance ticket holders. To receive the same seats as last year for this
year's Hardee's Shootout, the letters must be returned to Dixie Speedway
by
May 15. All remaining seats will go on sale to the public on June 1.

Anyone who ordered advance tickets to the Shootout last year and did not
receive a renewal letter by now should call Dixie Speedway at (770) 926-5315
Monday through Friday between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m.
