BLOOMQUIST BATTLES TO SECOND GLENMORA WIN

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

GLENMORA, LA - In a race that saw nine lead changes among four drivers,
four-time UDTRA Champion Scott Bloomquist of Mooresburg, TN made the last
run at the top spot on lap 61 and went on to win the Paragon Casino Resort
Soaring Eagle Classic 75-lap main event for the United Dirt Track Racing
Association Pro DirtCar Series Saturday night at Thunder Valley Speedway.

After starting ninth, Bloomquist swapped the lead with defending UDTRA
Champion Rick Eckert of York, PA six times between lap 51 and lap 61, as
their side-by-side battle kept the packed house on their feet. By lap 65,
Bloomquist pulled away to take his second UDTRA win at Thunder Valley
Speedway driving the Miller Brothers Coal Warrior/Custom Taurus.

"We guessed right on tires tonight, and the car got better as the race
went
on," Bloomquist said. "Once we got out front enough to use more of the
race
track, we were able to pull away. This track has been pretty good to me,
and it was really racy tonight."

After leading 29 laps of the race, Eckert had to settle for second in the
Raye Vest Rocket/Cornett Taurus, but took over the UDTRA point lead by 15
points over 1999 UDTRA Champion Dale McDowell of Rossville, GA. McDowell
finished 12th in the Larry Shaw Race Cars Rocket/Custom Grand Prix.

"We went with a little harder tire, and the cautions and the rain during
the race hurt us," Eckert said. "We want to win some races, and finish
up
front to try and win the championship again. We didn't win, but we finished
up front, so I guess it wasn't too bad of a night."

The 1997 UDTRA champion Billy Moyer of Batesville, AR lead early, fell
back
to fifth, but rallied late in the race to finish third in the Petroff
Towing/J&J Steel Rayburn/Dickens Taurus. Shannon Babb of Decatur, IL also
led the race in the early going, and battled for the top spot with
Bloomquist and Eckert, but had to settle for fourth in the Car City
Rayburn/Dickens Taurus.

Steve Francis of Ashland, KY started from the pole position in the
Valvoline/Mopar Parts Rocket/Stanton Intrepid, but fell back at the start
of
the race. Francis finished in the fifth spot. Fast qualifier Steve Shaver
of Parkersburg, WV finished sixth in the Richard Construction/Poske's
Performance Rocket/Malcuit Grand Prix.

Donnie Moran of Dresden, OH started 15th and finished seventh in the QPI
Tools Dirt Ripper Rayburn/Fisher Monte Carlo. Dan Schlieper of Pewaukee,
WI
was the Advance Auto Parts Hard Charger of the Race in the Pro Power Racing
Engines GRT/Pro Power Monte Carlo, finishing eighth after starting 18th.

Rick Aukland of Zanesville, OH drove a Shaver team car to finish ninth
in
the Richard Construction/Poske's Performance Rocket/Malcuit Grand Prix.
Brian Birkhofer of Muscatine, IA rounded out the top ten in the Seubert
Calf
Ranches Mastersbilt/Pro Power Grand Prix.

For the first time in the history of UDTRA, double-file restarts were used
in front of the Speed Channel cameras. This made for two and three-wide
racing throughout the field on the 1/4-mile clay oval. Eckert grabbed the
lead from his outside front row starting spot at the drop of the green flag,
followed by Moyer, Babb, Francis and Shaver.

On lap two, Moyer took the lead as he went three-wide with Eckert and Babb.
Wendell Wallace of Batesville, AR stalled his JFR Graphics/Monday
Motorsports GRT/Gaerte Grand Prix on the backstretch on lap three to bring
out the first of five caution flags. The first-ever double file restart
in
UDTRA history took place with Moyer out front, and Babb on the inside with
Eckert on the outside behind the leader.

When the green flag came out, Babb worked to the inside of Moyer to take
the lead on lap four. By lap 10, Babb and Moyer began to pull away from
Eckert, as they approached the last cars on the lead lap in front of them.
Dennis Erb Jr. of Carpentersville, IL brought out the second caution flag
when his B&K Sportswear Rayburn/Bullock Monte Carlo broke down in turn two.
Then rain held up the restart.

Once the rain shower cleared the race track, it was Babb in the lead, with
Moyer on the inside and Eckert on the outside behind the leader. On the
restart, Eckert made the outside groove work for him, and he pulled around
Moyer to take over the second spot. By lap 26, Eckert was still on the
outside groove and pulled along side Babb to challenge for the lead.

Eckert took over the point for the second time in the race on lap 30.
By
lap 33, Bloomquist began to make his presence known, as he used the inside
line to move up to fourth spot. On lap 35, Eckert began to work through
lapped traffic, as Bloomquist passed Moyer for the third spot. With the
leaders in heavy lapped traffic, Bloomquist caught Babb and was battling
for the second spot by lap 40.

The third caution flag came out on lap 44 when Kenny Merchant of Ruston,
LA
stalled the J.D. Caver Warrior/Kuntz Mustang in turn four. Lucas Oil Rookie
of the Year point leader Shane Tankersley of Morgonton, GA brought out the
fourth and fifth caution flags with a pair of spins on lap 47 and lap 51
in
the J.T. Kerr Racing Equipment Stinger/Race Tech Grand Prix.

Eckert led Bloomquist, Babb, Francis and Moyer back to the green flag for
the 25-lap dash to the finish. Eckert, Bloomquist, and Babb immediately
went three-wide on the restart. Eckert worked the high line, while
Bloomquist squeezed Babb out of the inside line. Each time past the
start-finish line, Eckert and Bloomquist were side-by-side with about a
foot
separating them as they swapped the lead.

Eckert led lap 51. Bloomquist led lap 52. Eckert led lap 53. Bloomquist
led laps 54 and 55. Eckert led laps 56 through 60, and Bloomquist took
the
lead for good on lap 61. Eckert stayed along side Bloomquist until lap
65
when Bloomquist was able to finally pull away during the last ten laps of
the race to post the $15,000 victory.

Shaver out-timed the 39 entrants with a lap in 14.209 seconds to win $500
from Logan Farms. Francis won the JE Pistons $100 Bonus Award with a first
heat race win, and Babb picked up the Scott Performance Wire $50 Bonus Award
with a third heat race win. Eckert won the second 12-lap heat race, and
Moyer was the fourth heat race winner.

The 1996 UDTRA Champion Freddy Smith of Knoxville, TN won the first 12-lap
Polaris ATVs Consolation Race in the Christenberry Trucking and Farms
Warrior/Custom Monte Carlo. Schlieper won the second 12-lap Polaris ATVs
Consolation Race.

The Paragon Casino Resort Soaring Eagle Classic presented by the Louisiana
Bureau of Tourism and Recreation can be seen as the first of ten "Dirty
Thursdays" featuring the UDTRA Pro DirtCar Series on Speed Channel at 11
p.m. Eastern time on May 9. A complete UDTRA television schedule on Speed
Channel can be seen on the series web site at www.udtra.com.
