Steve Hillard bests Joe Ross Jr. and Roger Long in wild finish!!!!
Utilizing a new, experimental setup under his
Mastersbilt chassis, Steve Hillard came from
the seventh starting spot to outrun Joe Ross Jr.,
and Roger Long for the win. Outside front row
starter Joe Harlan would lead the first 7 laps, until Ross passed him and he and Long would start to set sail. By the time Hillard overtook Harlan for third, it was a long way up to the leaders, but the undaunted Hillard use his new setup, and a slightly different groove to run down the leaders. The last six laps were run with Long, Ross Jr. and Hillard all leading, and all within one car length of the lead. Very exciting racing, as the lap times were the same in the feature as in the trophy dash.
Jay Sparks set fast time - 12.902

Heats went to the newly healed, first night out for Jeff Leka, Dennis Erb Jr. and the fast heat to Hillard.
