Pittsburgh's Pennsylvania Motor Speedway Starts Up March 31

IMPERIAL, PA.…The tradition will indeed continue at Dirt's Monster Half Mile! Miley Motorsports, Inc. and Emma Garin, owner of the facility, have come to terms on a new three year lease, and Pittsburgh's Pennsylvania Motor Speedway will roar back to life on Saturday evening, March 31 when the green flag waves for the start of their 13th year of speedway operation. The Late Models will once again headline the weekly shows, joined by the Limited Late Models, E-Mods, Pure Stocks and Amateur Strictly Stocks. Miley Motorsport's President James "Red" Miley proclaimed, "This is very good news, and we certainly look forward to continuing the week to week operation of the facility. We are especially pleased that our competitors and all of the loyal fans will continue to have the opportunity to spend Saturday nights at Pittsburgh's Pennsylvania Motor Speedway."
Colussy Chevrolet out of Bridgeville, and Pittsburgh's Monarch Oil Company are both back on board with their sponsorship programs for the 2001 season; and Isiminger's Pennzoil located in Washington, PA is returning for their second straight year as division sponsor for the Pure Stocks.

Cheswick based QPI Tools, who was the Limited Late Model Division sponsor during the 2000 season, becomes the new Late Model Division Sponsor for the next three years. QPI Tools also sponsors Houston, PA hotshoe, Jason Cisson. Cisson Racing is making the move from Limited Late Models to Late Model this year, thus it was a natural move for QPI Tools to go in that direction, and Miley Motorsports is delighted to have them on board as the premier division sponsor. In making the announcement, Mark Gracy, owner of QPI tools said, "We have made a major 3-year commitment to racing, and we are very excited about it." Tools and products manufactured by this local company are sold in area hardware stores and home improvement centers including The Home Depot, Wickes Lumber Company, and 84 Lumber. QPI Tools displayed their products at the speedway, and conducted several tool giveaways every race night to the fans during the past season. Gracy has indicated that they will continue the popular giveaway program again this year.

Final details are still being made to the 2001 schedule, but it is confirmed that the Mid-Atlantic Championship Series (MACS) will visit the speedway twice this year, once in July and again in August. The popular Twin 20's for the QPI Tools Late Models will grace the schedule four times, with specials also inked in for the Limited Late Models, E-Mods and Ismininger's Pure Stocks. The Zoresco Senior Series has an appearance scheduled in May, and the ever popular Demo Derby will be on the PPMS schedule three times in 2001. The Renegade STARS Racing Series, which has been a fixture at PPMS, will return as the sanctioning body for the season ending 13th Annual Pittsburgher in September. If Mother Nature cooperates, an open practice session is planned for Saturday, March 24 (alternate date, March 25) from 3 to 6 pm, and grandstand admission for practice is free. For more information, please call the business office at 724-853-RACE (7223), or visit our web site at http://www.ppms.com.

I'll be there on practice night! Are you coming to the opener Doc L? I don't think anyone else is running, but I could be wrong.

I'm glad you think that. I'm really tired of people complaining about the place. But I don't care, I love PPMS.

I'll be in the pits a couple times this year, I'll be sure to stop by. Are you running a GRT again this year? I saw you had a new one for sale.
