What about hard plastic (vinyl I think?) brake lines. They have been using them on sprint cars for awhile now with good success. I still prefer the old steel kind because the plastic ones tend to swell during brake application and make the pedal feel spongy. I'm told that the new polymers they are making them out of now are much harder and don't swell like the old ones used to. Any thoughts? TC

The total weight of steel brake lines cant be more than 3-4 pounds since we have to add 240 pounds of lead to the car to make min weight, I can't see sacrificing safty going from something I know will not fail to something that might.
