Which Chassis Manufactures will sell, & INSTALL (inside frame rails) traction control?
This is becoming a REAL problem, not just with travling series, but at local weekly tracks.
What is your thoughts?, please

What kind do you want? there's several! some are throttle, brake or Ign. Are you wanting one or trying to find out how to find one. there's a few out there that are all but impossible to find.

have the rules changed? Every track that we run at (Wayne County, Pennsylvania Motor Speeday, etc.) do not allow for any traction control devices, even when the STARS and MACS come to town.

I was just over at the UDTRA site, reading the message board. There are several posts on there that claim McDowell was using traction control last night in his victory at Kankakee.
I hope this doesn't turn dirt late model racing into a mega-buck game of "who's cheatin' who"! That could be very detrimental to our sport.

The best method of traction control out there is completely free. its called your right foot and learning how to use it.

Hey I'm all for finding that extra edge that makes you faster than the next guy, especially if it involves extensive research, testing and engineering, but electronic traction control especially if carried in the drivers pocket is just down right cheating. Besides, who is the better driver, you or the control box? That's why I don't watch formula 1, I can only be impressed with the guy that programmed the onboard computer, the driver is just along for the ride. Honor, hard work and honesty, the guy that works the hardest and prepares the best wins the race, or at least that's the way it should be. TC

Toad, I understand what you mean. PPMS is chock full of guys who display blatant disregard for the rules. I can recall three years ago at a STARS event when the official decided to give my father crap for his spoiler height. This was my Dad's first night out in about five years with a new car. He explained that he would not be at all competitive, but the official insisted upon Dad getting the hacksaw out and cutting some material from the sides of his spoiler. Meanwhile, one of the big shots was two spaces over rolling his tires in tire softener!!! I was merely making certain we did not miss something in the rulebook (read: Space between the lines!) that would allow people to add these devices to their cars. Personally, I would not want to deal with the ins and outs of traction control. I feel that is partially what separates us from the straight line drag racers, where the only way to get into the fast divisions is with delay boxes, transbrakes and tons of other electronics that allow them to simply put their foot in it, and wait for the computer to take care of everything. We actually have to drive and tune!! No offense meant to ya, Toad, so please do not take it the worng way.

I heard that Rocket chassis car do have some type of traction control on them but they take the controler box off to run with the UDTRA. I heard that MCDowell got fined for havin a pigtail off of his igntion that was thought to be for the traction control.
