What is a Magnum chassis? A first class dirt late model chassis manufactured by a fabricator with more that 125 career wins- so I guess we'll see where it is at the finishline. As for the tech guy- that's me and I want to help you guys as much as possible but I do have another job and that is to assist my customers. Please keep in mind that I will answer your questions as quickly as possible so please try to be a little patient. Thanks

Hey Tech Man- could you give me a little more imformation on the chassis as to the type tubing used (round or square-- dom or moly) etc. I am not doubting that it is quality, I just like to know more about it!

Thanks Tech Man,
I know Carl is always tough on the bullrings, but on the big tracks his cars seem to fade when it gets slick. Rine was fast at Port when there was a cushion to lean against, but when it slicked over from top to bottom, he was just average. Just an observation. Best of luck with the new business. Are there any differences in the magnum and the viper? Didn't know if you were using the same jig or not.

Thanks

30 Owner- Jeff Rine had an exceptional year in a Viper which as you pointed out was built by Carl. David Scott had a great one as well-in a Viper with 4 or 5 wins at Lernerville which is listed as a 1/2 mile- but was never actually there.
As for the jig- no it is not the same and there are difference in the Chassis-I hope that answers your question,if not ,I am sure Carl would be happy to talk to you if you would call him. Thanks for the interest!

I was told by several Viper owners that there was a problem with the moly round tube cars cracking. Is this still a problem that will be with the Magnum and if not, what was done to eliminate it?

To the Dirt Man:
The Viper 2X2 cars did have a problem with cracking- but all the 2X2 cars did- not just the Vipers, because of the flex & the flat of the the tubing. The Round Tube car was virtually crack proof- except when they were bent and not repaired properly.Hope this answers your question.

How do they normalize or heat treat their chassis after they are finished welded? Have they ever been tested?

Really do appreciate your interest in our chassis- but the technical questions you are addressing about the Magnum Chassis need to be answered by our chassis builder- since that is his department- I am hear to answer late model questions in general - about set up, etc... If you would call our Shop - I am sure Carl would be more than happy to answer any question you have concerning the specs on our chassis.

Dirt Man- just curious- what part of the country are you from and are you racing late models now? - if so what type of chassis are you running.

Lm199, Sorry for the delay in my response but I've been on some long awaited (and very much needed) VACATION. I now reside in Pa. For the last 5 years I have been involved in a Limited Late Model type car. If I can pull together some crew people and align some Sponser money I want to run in the Late Model class. The reason for all the questions is I want to be certain on the chassis I select.
