Can a dirt late model weighing 2300 lbs and running at 7200 RPM and a 4Bbl carb on alcohol make it with a cast steel crank or is a forged one a requirement? Thanks

we bought new Scat cast crank. Ran full season in 2500 lb open wheel modified and ran in 2750 lb. Late Model sportsman. Same crank has two seasons on it. Was balanced. 12 to 1 compression on gasoline. great value for under $200. Putting new one in 377 on alcohol we are building for next year. Not afraid of it and can't aford the $800 forged ones.

I agree with Gary, we ran a SCAT crank in our mod for a full year and at times turned it at 7800 rpm. After a full season, the crank looked brand new! Sold it to a guy up north and he's still using it with no problems.
