has anyone ever ran a mechanical fuel pump on a late model with gas. IF so what is a good name to buy. What fuel pressure is suitable? Do you run a return line back to tank?

We ran gas in our limited car, ran a Holley pump with regulator and return. It worked fine. They have different stages though. I think one of them doesn't require a regulator but has 1/2" outlets. Its a lower pressure model. I bet that would work fine.

We run a Carter pump on our Limited Late as we did on our modified in the past. We run a 362 engine with 750 carb. using a fuelog with no return or regulator. Fuel pressure gauge is screwed into the log. Uses a #8 line from cell to filter to pump to log to carb. I have NEVER had a single problem with this setup. Pressure at idle is a steady 6 pounds. We also run a Willy's carb. and 1 inch spacer. Also if you can get away without using any 45 or 90 degree fittings do it! My entire fuel delivery system uses all straight fittings. I also shroud the fueline from heat under the hood. Keep the fueline as far away as possible from the lower radiator hose. Hope this has helped.
