a 614 for a 12 bolt? i may be wrong but i think the lowest gear i've seen for a 12 bolt was a 580 something you may want to check.

Good luck on the 614 in a 12 bolt. It takes a special carrier from a 3 series gear with a spacer behind the ring gear, or a 4 series carrier. Also, the 614 gear takes a special cross pin because of the size of the ring gear. In addition, 12 bolt parts are getting hard to find, and the axles are not up to racing use. This is not a job for the home mechanic. Also, expect a short ring and pinion life as the pinion gear is not very stout due to its small size. All in all, stick with the ford for gear selection and strength
