Its in a lawyers hands right now. (2 cars, new hauler, sponsors etc., and No track to race at. The certified letter was very vaque and gave very little explanations. The letter was received 7 months after my last IMCA race, and I was never put on notice for any infractions. So much for due process!
The letter did make mention of an incident from 2001. I was a guaranteed starter for a special show at The famed Oswego Speedway. When I pulled in, I was told it was $40 to register the car and $50 for each pit pass. ($40+ myself, wife and 2 crew members= $240.) I said, "He11 NO"!
I left my car outside the front gate with a sign on it that said, "I saved $240 BY NOT RACING".
In 2002,I bought a motor BACK that was claimed from me. After the claimer dissasembled it and inspected it, I gave him $500 for it.(383 descent heads, stock rods and crank) We had a gentlemans agreement that I would not grudge claim him back. IMCA is hinting that I used coercion tactics to reaquire this motor, but were smart enough not to put it in writing.
I have a feeling that the real reasons are the fact that I have been outspoken in my push for some sort of teching in the Northeast region. Or, the fact that we have successfully started our own NON-sanctioned series for drivers in my region.
Sorry to air dirty laundry here. Feel free to E-mail me for more info.
