Beatrice Speedway gears up for 10th Modified Spring Nationals
BEATRICE, Neb. (Jan. 11) - The 10th annual Spring Nationals are on tap March 21-23 at Beatrice Speedway, with a $5,000 check awaiting the winner of the I.M.C.A. Sunoco Modified feature event.
Joining the season-opening program at Beatrice is the Spring Fling for I.M.C.A. Sunoco Stock Cars. The Satur-day event pays $600 to win.
Leading into the weekend event is an open practice session for the two divisions, from 6-9 p.m. on Thursday, March 20.
The front nine cars on the inside row of the Modified feature will be deter-mined on Friday. Hot laps are at 5:30 p.m. and racing starts at 7 p.m.
Saturday's slate sees hot laps at 2:45 p.m. and racing at 4 p.m. Modifieds will qualify the front nine on the outside row while the entire Spring Fling program will be run.
Twenty-four cars will make up the Stock feature, which pays a minimum of $100 start. Non-qualifiers will get $75 tow money and the minimum 3,100 lb. weight rule will be enforced.
Last-chance races start at 1 p.m. and will add 10 cars to the back of the Modified grid on Sunday. The main event will be 30 laps.
The winner's engine will be claimed by Beatrice Speedway and I.M.C.A. All Modified drivers will receive sealed bid cards when they first sign in at the gate; the high bid will be decided shortly after the feature is completed and the amount above the $525 paid to the driver and wrecker will be split among drivers finish-ing second through 28th.
Engines in the second through fifth-place finishing cars will also be claimable by any eligible driver placing sixth through 28th in the feature.
An inclement weather policy will be finalized and an-nounced as soon as possible
Entry forms can be printed off the website. More information about the Spring Nationals or the Spring Fling is also available by calling (402) 223-3158.
