Youngster Paillou, veteran Galbreath top Winternationals features
MILTON, Fla. (Feb. 8-9) - One hundred wins separate the career totals of Mark Paillou and Curtis Galbreath.
Both, however, took home titles and $1,000 checks from Southern Raceway's 10th annual Winternationals.
Paillou topped Friday night's feature for I.M.CA. Sunoco Modifieds. Racing in a sanctioned event at Milton for the first time, the 20-year-old Mississippian beat a field largely comprised of veterans to the checkers.
The victory was the first in Paillou's I.M.C.A. career and came in front of Tony Anglin, Robert Powers, Jason Barnhill and Mark Iverson.
Unable to make it past the "B" main on Friday - a fate Paillou shared on Saturday - Galbreath found his way to the front of the Saturday show and couldn't be caught.
The win was career number 101 for Galbreath, who also paced Winternationals races in 1996 and 2000.
Runner-up honors went to Wesley DuBoise.
Todd Jones, Foster Poe and Jared Wagster rounded out the top five.
