DIRT cars are a split between a sprint and a late model...while IMCA's are their own breed.

yes jammin and the fact that DIRT cars run Big Blocks and they have the driver sit in the middle of the car, and run huge spoilers and big tires with suspension crossed betweeen a sprint car and a late model.

DIRT cars are mainly a northeast thing you almost never see them other than the northeast part of the country.

They do have a limited class where the only difference is that they run small blocks everything else is the same.

As mentioned before with IMCA you can run almost anywhere.

A couple of the tracks in PA that run the DIRT style mods now have an EMOD class as well.

There EMOD class is nothing more than a UMP mod and the field of cars is growing.

DIRT mods cost to compete are more than an IMCA style mod.

I wonder if the DIRT guys are feeling the same thing that a lot of the upper late models guys are feeling in the money category.

Jammin:
I think so from I saw when I worked up there, the big block car counts were dropping in western PA in favor of either the 6cyl. DIRT mods or small block DIRT mods.

The EMODS are gainng momentum and as I mentioned before they are UMP mods heck they even run D-40 Hoosier tires.

So I would say yes that the DIRT mods are feeling the pinch other than the DIRT guys in NJ and NY area they seem to be doing a lttle better car count wise than the PA tracks

Just my observation though from the year and half that I worked up there.

Brown, i figured....they seem to be more expensive to run than the lates. I think their lack of national exposure to other parts of the country is really gonna hurt them in the long run. They will end up being a touring series before it is over and done with, I bet.
