I tore the front end of my 73 Chevelle project car apart and the front springs are 17 inchs tall. Does anybody know what height stock springs for this car should be? Am I going to be able to get stock appearing racing springs for this? Our rules call for stock appearing springs, and no spacers allowed.
Thanks

I just ran into the same problem with my Camaro. I put the 12" racing springs in it and it slammed the front end down to the ground. I had 4.5 inches ride height on the drivers side. I am struggling with the same problem and havent found longer springs anywhere so if you do I would appreciate it if you could let me know where. I will do the same.

I don't have any experience with this but I'll try to help ya out anyway. I don't believe they make stock appearing springs that are 17" tall. Since you can't use spacers you may have to cut the springs down to size. If you decide to go that route keep in mind that cutting the spring will increase it's spring rate.

the stock springs are taller and have a lower spring rate then a racing spring. a 14 inch racing spring may give you the correct ride height because the rate is greater. get what im saying?? gould

My 83 Monte had 16" free length factory springs in it. I replaced them with 12" racing springs and they worked great except I was unable to get positive camber on driver side. I was told that an 11" spring would fix my problem (springs actually to long).

NYhick, SCP (stock car products) sells racing replacement springs for Camaro that are drop in replacements.
