Need some more help.! I just took the car out for the start of the season. I installe dheaders during the off-season. The headers touch the starter. I tried to wrap with some gasket material, and then wrapped with aluminum foil!! Was told to wrap with sheet metal but did not have any. What are some solutions??? Car would not start after it got up to temp. had to push car off last 3 runs. Thanks for any input.?!!!!!

The two best things that come to mind are different headers or a mini stater. Otherwise fab a heat shield that bolts to solinoid and the back of the starter and if you dont have room your back to the mini starter....Hope this helps a little.... towman

If the header is actually touching the starter you can dent the header slightly to get clearance. You must have an air gap if only a 1/16". Denting the header slightly has little effect on power, if you can't start the engine that is a big effect. Once you have an air gap then use an insulator, but still have an air gap no matter how small. SLEEPY

my dad robbed some type of inslating material that goes around boiler tubes from where he works.if you can get some of that it works real good.but man is it ugly.
