I have everything I need to mount a panhard bar......except the knowledge.

I am running a sportsman ( 81 cutlass supreme). Does this thing mount pointing towards the drivers or pass side?

I am looking for suggestions for mounting to the body, we already have the pinion bracket.

I am running a 9 in ford rear. So I guess we will have to loosen one of the upper trailing arms so there wont be any binding.

Does anyone have some pix?

If you are racing on dirt the frame end will connect to the drivers side of the car. On asphalt it is on tha passenger side. You will want to be able to have the bar run at the same plane as the centerline of the axel and have the ability to move either end up or down. Use the longest panhard you can get! I put mine behind the punkin. As far as the stock links go you will have MUCH more success if you will fabricate a mount on the top of the rear end housing and install a third link there. I have tried removing the bushings from one end of a stock link and using the other stock link as a three link. Steve Smith shows this in Street Stock Chassis Tech. I didn't have much success with this set up. I purchased a spring loaded top link and used the strongest springs I could get in it. M7R Racing may have a used top link. Our rules forbade a shock damper, but I was fine without it. Good luck!

the "asphalt" set up works good on the dirt too. i've used a panhard bar with leaf springs, mainly to keep the rearend centered and not really as a tuning device. it helps the car stay "set" in the corners, especially on a rough track. start with the panhard bar level.

i used it behind the rearend as well.
