How do you keep an auto trans in the gear that you put it in with the shifter.

When I gas on it, I do not want it to go back to first.

You can also try a shift kit, Tranny shops will have a better idea of which one you need, but they will only allow the tranny to run in the gear you put it in with the shifter.

Thanks 17 and 51.

That is what we thought we would do, however we were not sure if there was another solution or not.

i got mine from summit if your using a 400 u will need a trg-400-s manual shift kit it cost 75.69. i would make sure the trannys in good shape before u spend the time and money on it. its cheap to have your tranny rebuilt, and use a new or rebuilt tourqe converter too hope this helps
