"Street Stock Chassis Technology" is a good book for beginners to learn from. There are other books out there also that a person can learn from, but some of them are a lot more technical than the Steve Smith books. Start making friends at your track. You can also just start searching thru the archives on this site, there is a lot of good info on this forum and a lot of smart people that use it so if you have any questions don't be afraid to ask.
