Just start unbolting. I'd start with the front end and take the hood and front fenders off. If your taking the body completely off the frame, you'll need some help from some of your buddies cuz it's pretty heavy. I'd probably cut most of the heavy structure out before trying to remove it.Remove all interior pieces and glass too.

Just did that to my 77 monte
(each side) two body mounts in the very front two along the rocker panel and two near the tail. Looks like one just over the rear hump but it is just there to take up space and to make you dig and wonder where in the 1134 is the head for it! HeHe
jhon Is on the money. I started with gutting the big stuff from inside then the front fenders. and hot wrenchenck all the vines that kept us from lifting the body. ALSO remove those rediculously heavy doors! and the deck lid. Ya know the big heavy stuff. Be careful and have fun.

We used to have different rules in Montana, but we used to just trim the body off right around the bottom of the body on the outside. right where the paint turns to rust and raw metal. then make some mounts and bolt it to the metal and floor pans that are in place now. if you lost weight, make it up with steel bolted somewhere in the car where it helps your handling.
