Can anyone tell me what steering gear box and out of what has a quicker steering ratio than my 86 Cutlass??

Is quicker better???

2nd generation f-body. z-28 or trans-am.

That is correct. It is over a half turn and four points quicker and bolts right up. It has to be a Z or TA to be quicker and as far as is it better? That depends on you but for me yeah quicker is better.

I have also been told that boxes from Jeep Cherokees are a quicker style. Can anybody confirm this....

No get the mail jeeps they are the quickest yet; you just jogged my memory. They are 12:1. Finding them are like hens teeth.

My 12.7:1 box is 2.5 turns lock to lock.

a shorter steering arm will make it faster. so will a longer pitman arm.

I have a G-body buick. And a couple of guys at my track used the steering box off of a Chevy S10. I guess my steering box is a 1 to 2 ratio and the S10 is 1 to 1,used with,not less than a 17 inch steering wheel.

The S-10 box is the same as a stock metric as far as I know. The steering wheel has nothing to do with ratio! Any stock car with power steering should work fine with a 15" wheel. The only difference is with a smaller wheel your hands travel less distance but the same amount of turn in degrees.
