Hey guys was wondering what is yalls take on running 14" tires and wheels? I understand smaller tires and wheels help in gear ratio, and I really like how much cheaper they are, compared to 15".Has any body run them,or know of anybody who has run them. What sizes should I get (# left and right)What are the pros and cons here. While I find and build a better motor,I gonna start with the old worn out one in the car and run the stock gears.Car is A metric Pontiac. Thanks for all your feed back!!

Double, I've always been told that 15" tires get better traction than 14"wheels. I tried this on my first race car spent about the same amount, I wished I'd gone 15" first. I'd go with the 15"s they'll be cheaper if you can find used ones, try swap meets or e-Bay. I doubt that many used 14" are around. Hope this helps..loojack

i run 14's so i can get my gear ratio right the one drawback i see with them is nobody makes 14's that will fit anything bigger than a mini stock in racing wheels in order to find a decent looking wheel you have the choice pretty much of white spokes $25 a peice or if you want chrome the modular wheels are 45 and there is no options for ofsets where a silver powdercoated 15x7 aero, basset, bart wheel comes in different offset and cost around 35.i'm changing gears this year to run 15's on our 1/2 mile but will still run the 14's on the 3/8 and 4/10. for you we need to know what size track you are running what gear you have in the car. and how many rpm's you want to run the motor. on mine on a shorter 1/2 mile i run a3.23 gear in 2dn with a t-350 comes out to be a 4.90 ratio and i run 205/70&75/14's depending on the track comditions and turn 5500 as for air pressure i run the same as i would with a 15 there is no difference there
