should a rookie learn on 3 wheel brakes or not.. i was told its the only way to get a pure stocker to turn..

posted December 27, 2002 10:11 PM it depense on the type of track i have ran 3 wheel brakes on big tracks with sweeping turns and hated them made the car way to loose but i have also ran them on a tight 1/4 mile and they worked great so it realy depends on the drivers feal for a car and how they like it to be

rules at my track says you have to have all four brakes working. I left a little air in my right front caliper, it seemed to work. Although like racer17j said I also think its to loose on our 1/3 mile track. I think I will bleed the air out and try it this comming season.

Rookies tear up way too much when they've go really GOOD brakes! For your sake (and your competitors) Put brakes on all fours! You can set the car up to turn regardless of whether the right front brake is working or not. Three wheel brakes DO have some advantages -on short dry-slick tracks--but LEARN your car before you try three wheel brakes!
