I'm kinda new to this forum thing, but I was wondering about sway bar links. I have an 82 Monte Pure Stock and was wondering if it would be any advantage to go with poly buskings AND change the lengths on each side. Should I go longer on the left or what? Has anyone found a length that works good for them??

i would take off the sway bar and throw it in the scrap iron pile!!! with the right springs on dirt you dont need a sway bar, you will get varied opinions on this, but i just gave you mine

i have ran with and without with one side hooked up and then the other not noticed any difference at all i will never run one or those heavy pieces again

Should I be running poly bushings everywhere else though?

I've talked with guys who run sway bars, generally on very slick low banked tracks. THe way to set the links up is to use a piece of all thread in both the links. With the ride height set, the car race weighted (including driver) tighten the left bushing to where the bar has no movement. Then proceed to the right side and install the rod and bushings. You do not want the sway bar to move either up or down as you snug the bushings to it or to the lower A frame. If your car is loose, you can INCERASE the distance from the sway bar lenghts on the right side to give the car mors cross weight. If the car is tight, DECREASE the amount of rod between the bushings on the right side. This will take cross out of the car. Think of the sway bar as a big U. You've got to hold one side in a fixed position to either load or unload the other.
On the bushing question, I like the poly bushings. Just installed a set in Camaro I'm building. I found Summit to have the best price. I've used steel bushings before, but they required weekly maintenance, and if you race where I race, there's always more to do on the car than just spend time cleaning and lubing frone end bushings!

I agree with Eljojo although i to have thrown the swaybar away to run on dirt. I used the swaybar on the asphalt the way he describes. As for your bushings i run polys in my lower a frames (run tubular uppers with wt jacks) i also run them in my rear leafs. You can probably get them from the local parts supply house. Got mine from CSK they sell a brand called Energy Suspensions. Eddie
