I haven't decided where to use a manual or automatic transmission. Which of these is better and easier to work on?

My opinion is to go with the manual.

Powerglide, all the way. no muss, no fuss, no clutch, less weight, cheaper. If you need to be push started You can get an old rear pump model, but you should be taking better care of your car than that.

Thanks y'all. I think I have decided to keep my manual transmission in there and just get a stock clutch for right now.
Thanks agian.

I have got a trick"stock" clutch and flywheel I have left over from my bomber days. It has the same appearance and diameter of the stock just thirteen pounds less rotating weight. It would be cheap.
