I am curious...
Before my Purestock became a stockcar, it was sitting in a pawn shop with a badly damaged drivers side quarter panel. I asked for permission from the track tech folks, and recieved it to square tube the rear frame. I did this and now the car is not legel for the street stock class that is above this one. I am curious how many racers can make changes to the frame, behind the rear end, to the frame. And to what degree can you make changes. And also what class are you currently running the car in?

we can replace ours mainly becuse here in the midwest all the salt we use rots the rear frame horns if you go to imca.com they have the rules that we go by but we have to replace it past the weld mark and it must be just like the stock ones are

So I am understanding that you replace with a stock frame? Do you think the square tubing is better than the stock frame?

we use 2x3 095 tubing and it has to be 1 inch past the factory seam and it has to run just like the stock rails did. myself i like the idea but it is kind of a pain getting it to line up right i realy like the fact that i can put some lead in it if i need to beings we are not suposed to use it gives us a place to hide some and it is alot stronger in my opinion then the stock rails

OK, good idea for the weight. I just bolt it down or attach with the tube clamps.
