I'm building a '79 Cutlass Pure Stock, What is the easiest, or best ways to mount the stock type bumpers.I using aluminum bumper shells from a mid '80s Olds Omega. Should I use square tubing inside them? We are not required to use the stock mounts, which are at the recycling ctr. anyway. Thanks! loojack

This baby dont have much give in it. Eddie

Vega bumpers are aluminum and will work too. I would brace them the same, they will be a little more narrow than the camaro but then you can narrow the front end of the car. I would build the mounts like the super stocks do with a removable one and that you can replace the mounts easily.

we always use the stock mounts and just put some square tubing in the bumper to bolt it too saves on time on the frame machine when your bumper gives and your horns don't

the best way we have found is to use the stock mount but cut the stock part that goes inside the frame rail. and weld the tube to the rest of the bumber mount and then bolt it to the frame with a small chain from bracket to the frame. that way if it came loose the chain will hold the bumber off the ground. also if u cut the stock bumber shock off becarefull using a tourch becouse there is pressureized fluid in the shock and it flames up bad hope this helps
