Well, for starters, to give you a lot of good info, I'd say pick up a copy of Doug Roe's book called "Rochester Carburetors". would have it.
I'm not a salesman of his either, but it's
a good baseline and source of beginner's info.

Outside of that, all I can say without writing a book longer than War & Peace is that we can fix your carb for a little bit of nothing and you'll be amazed at the difference.
Some of the things we do are:
Change primary fuel metering circuits
Tune and time throttle opening points
Alter main circuits heavily and install
custom made main feed tubes and main bleeds.
De-burr and re-plate entire internals and externals
Enlarge pump well and custom build new pump
and change pump timing and geometry.
Close off all unneeded vacuum ports.
Install correct primary and secondary rods
Alter power piston
Install new sec. air valve spring and sec. cam
.....anyway, you get the idea...we spend some hours "tinkering", that's for sure.

How about taking the "big choke" off of the secondaries? That'll make more power right?!

don't take the big choke off the rear barrels that's what draws in the fuel when they open and you will have one big stumble or flat spot if you want them to open quicker on the pass side there's an allen ***** under the top hold the spring adjustment inside where the butterflies swivel and loosen the allen back it off slightly and tighten the allen back you can play with this to get it to open sooner or later also the accelerator pump well could use a longer slot to help it get more fuel in the corner
