Hi. I'm trying to set up my dirt car...

My class rules say that we must run stock springs, and I've been reading a lot about setting up spring stagger for better handling.

I know that adjusting tire pressure can act like adjusting spring rates... more pressure = more spring rate.

Can anyone give me a ballpark number on about how much tire pressure relates to spring rate?

example: 1 pound of tire pressure equals about 20 pounds of spring rate

Any help?

so it acts sort of like adding wedge?

Sorry, I didnt feel that I explained that well, so I deleted it. Yes, air works more in the weight department of the car...you have got it.

You say your rules say you have to run stock springs. Do they actually look at the springs in the cars? If not call midwest motorsports and get 2 afco racing springs they run $60.00 a piece. Just leave the rear stock. Run about a lf 100 rf 1200. Midwest motorsports 1-800-262-5033 I know this was off the subject but it's worth a shot......
