I am going to run in a train race next week, I was just curious if anyone has ever done this... I have never seen one and the rules are a little uninformative... I thought that the middle car was supposed to be empty, but the rules say max. of 2 people per car... is this how they are all run? I also would like any tips on any special set-up or driving hints... since I have never seen one...thanks...

They have the train races at my track. The rules are a little different here because the middle car has to be empty. But by talking to the drivers i have found out the you should keep the chains as tight as you can. Also you and your partner should make hand signals so you arent on the brake and on the gas at the same time. other then that jkust go out there and have fun. Good Luck

from the ones that i have seen they mean empty by they have no brakes and no motor just a driver like the rookie said it's good to have hand signals we did this in our cruiser car and it helped a bunch and if at all posible use the third brake lite that way the lead car can signal when he would be on the brakes

I just found out that the middle car can have passengers but everything must be disconnected( steering and brakes) I was thinking about adjusting the caster to help it follow, is there anything else I could do to make it stay in line? I will try to hook up a light off the brake switch... thanks for the help...

The guys at my track put a chain from the drivers side, wrap it around the steering wheel a few times then put it to the passanger side. Make sure you connect the cars with alot of chains and keep them tight.Good Luck!

here's an idea pigpen not sure if it will work and looks like it's a little late but how bout taking your tierods and conecting then with a bar then weld a chain to the middel of the lead cars bumper hook it around that tie rod bar deal and put some stops on each side that way when the lead car turns it will pull the chain against the stop and make the wheels go that way also just keep the stops pretty close together so you don't have to much slack it will make it kinda like a grain wagon's front axle. also if you don't want to try that where do you have your chains i would put them to the outsides of the bumper that way it will pull more in the direction your going
