I found something this weekend I thought was interesting. And seven ways of frustrating! The past couple of weekends my 350 turbo would shift its self to second at the most inopportune times. Like when I am about to over take someone. Checking the tranny seemed vain because I know it is a good one – the best the salvage had to offer!! This week end it started to shift quite a bit!?? Crawling up underneath the hot rascal I noticed what could be my gremlin. The exhaust header pipe had shifted and something bent it up close enough to the shifting linkage that it appeared to be okay when in park, go into gear just fine, but when the power plant torqued the linkage would get pushed - the car shifted to second. Darn manual valve body did just what it was told… A jack handle and piece of bailing wire later I was happy again. And yes I passed him in the A feature!
