I have a 2800 lb Bomber w/ 355 9in ford rear, sometimes middle of corners the car will start wheel hopping and you ll have to let out of the gas then accel again before it will quit but it tends to slow ya down.
I ve replaced both rear (afco) shocks checked trailing arm bushings and can t see anything wrong. I m running a 300 lb spring on lr & 250 on rt r, there s approx 60 lbs on Lr & prob 40 lbs on RR bolted above the shocks ( good or Bad ? ) I ve purchased some ***** jacks but haven t installed yet cause I d like to find more out about this problem first, I don t know anything about ***** jacks so I m alittle weary of them cause the car handles good the way it is, and I don t want to loose anything but getting rid of that much weight above that axle would be nice ! So I d like some input on your ideas like what you would do !

Thanks

check the lower trailing arm angles. Try to get close to zero on the bottom, but no more than probably 10 degrees, at best.

if your are running leaf springs, put a strong clamp at the end of each leaf to hold it together, will stop tire hop

What kind of car are you running? Stock four link or leafs. if it s a four link how high do you have the upper arms mounted. how much angle is in the upper and the lowers?

Kinda obvious but what about your shocks?

What type are you running? Try a 96 if the tracks rough.

I drive a FORD so I have time to work on Chebby's.

if you have your upper trailing arms mounted up to high off of the rearend to get more angle it could cause it to chatter under certain conditions. the higher the rear upper mounts the higher the rear roll center is going to be. i had this problem last year on my street stock. mounted the upper arms about 8 inches above the top of the pumpkin. had about 25 dergees in the uppers. right in the middle of the corner after braking and before getting on the gas the rearend would start to chatter. i ended up cutting the upper mounts down to four inches. havent had that problem any more.
