I have a 76 monte Carlo with a completely stock suspension. My question is what exactly does the sway bar due ? Is there anyway for the sway bar to be used as a set-up adjustment?

Yeah,,,Leave the passenger side at stock position, The draw the driver's side down as far as you can get it,(without it hitting tie rods). I have always run my cars like this.

I use it to help plant more on the LR when track gets dry-slick. I do like 24 said and jack that puppy down--but only when its dry-slick. If track is greasy, she pushes straight up the track and won't turn when I do this, so I start with it loosened and by feature time when track gets dry slick, I crank it down. This serves to transfer more weight from LF to RF which in a round-about way plants more on the LR.
