Ok I am new to racing, I have a 79 regal and want to put in new ball joints. Is there any secrets to replacing them? It appears they are riveted right to the a-arm. If they are how do you get the old ones off? Thanks

Definetly easier to drill them. I just did two arms and decided to try both ways. Just a note- I have always grinded them off. Guess what? Never again, from now on its drill time. It took about 3 minutes to drill, 45 when I grinded them off.

Chisel the heads off or drill them or use a cut off wheel and take the heads off the rivets . I done all three just depends on what i have handy at the time . GOOD luck

If you plug that grinder in, then push the button, you'll find that those rivit heads will be ground off in a minute. 45 minutes of shakin' that grinder around is pretty hard work aint it!?!
