should the transmission mount solid to the crossmember or should it have the rubber mount? car is a camaro with a 350-3 speed standard, 9" rear end..

the key to an race car make everything easy to fix if it breaks that will have it fixed in no time I used the rubber one with an 350 tubro

I don't have any definite reason or knowledge as to why but I have always been told that if you run rubber on the motor you need to run steel on the tranny and vice versa. I can't tell you why. It seems like it would break the bellhousing but it doesn't. I have run this way for 2 years now and everythings a-ok. I will advise that if you do run a solid tranny mount to check it EVERY WEEK!

posted January 31, 2002 01:31 AM i have always been told the same as bubba i think it has to do with the vibration helps dampen it not sure if thats why but it sounds good to me anyway lol this might be why you see alot of 3 eared trannys and cracked cases on autos
