Since there is no "cruiser" forum here I thought I should post here. me and a friend are going to build a cruiser car (2 drivers) for next year. the rules at our track say it has to be 112+ inch wheel base. Could someone please tell me what are good cars to use that are 112"? Are the earlier (non-metric) Chevelles/Cutlass's or Monte Carlo's 112?
Also another idea we had is to use a mid-70's chevy truck. there are a couple trucks that run in hobby class here and do ok. Is a short wheel base Chevy 112"? How bout a LWB? How would a truck do with stock suspension?
It is a 3/8 mile banked oval if that is of any importance...
Thanks for your help

The fastest cruisers around here are 77 and older CHEVY malibus and caprices, I know for sure the malibus are 112. Trucks dont do so good here. Stick with the CHEVYS. GOOD LUCK

CHRYSLER CORDOBA. And just think, built in weight jacks with the torsion bar front ends. A little weaker in the front end so dont hit anyone with it, but still very durable and when you can crank on a torsion bolt and tighten or loosen the car. TRICK STOCK WEIGHT JACKS.

I think the 1973-1976 Monte Carlos are the best because the motor is set back further in the car than in the Malibus and Caprices allowing more wieght transfer to the back and the car is 115 inch wheelbase so you would pass
