How does one determine what size exhaust they need for an engine? I run an Hobby
stock w/350sbc standard bore,flat tops,9-1, rochester2bl.,Oemheads,cast intake and exhaust--the cars I race against
have anywhere between 2-3" pipes on their cars.
Thanks

I would think 2", 2 1/4" max would be plenty for a stock intake/exaust set-up. Alot I've seen only run them 1/4 to 1/2 way back on the car anyways, and you want some back pressure.

How long do you think the pipes should be to create enough back pressure? Is there anyway to make more power out of stock exhaust manifolds?

the way we always tell where to cut them is make them plenty long and then paint them white start the motor let it run for a while then cut it off where the paint stopped burning off
