posted May 14, 2001 10:56 PM I'm in the process of building a street stock and put new springs in the rear.I'm running a 85 Monte. I bought new 11" springs for the rear and it seems like they aren't tall enough. I'm new to building cars and don't know much about the suspension. I bought these at the race shop and they told me it would lower the car. Well when I installed them I had to let the jack almsot all the way down before they seated in, and when I jack the car up they come off their seat. Was wondering if that was ok or do I need to get some kind of spacer for them? Any help would be great. Like I said I'm new so please help. THANKS!!!!!

It just depends on what ride height your looking for. I would make the right side .5" taller than the left . Hope this helps .

We have run the 11 in. springs also. We put a 1 1/2 in rubber spacer on top of the springs to raise the ride height. Also we used hose clamps to attach the springs to the axle seats to keep them from falling out. BTW the rubber spacers were held on with 3 tie straps.
